Waaaaaaaaaaaah >_<
Stop, plz!
Yes, this is going to be a What-Were-You-Thinking-When-You-Wrote-This post.
Dear old RAS, with his innocent American family, may write things like "Entreri wanted Drizzt Do'Urden." Without clarifying that he actually means, hem-hem, battle. Or Artemis' flirtatious: "Must I be punished?", or the constant use of the word "desire".
Cute, pure-minded Salvatore. *snickers*
But srsly. Anime? Manga? The original author may even place hints on purpose, to attract rabid yaoi-fangirls who'll buy the comics and the DVDs and the merchandise. After all, a centimeter of paper less not-separating, for instance, Byakuya and Renji, is going to inspire Ficcage - and fanfics are free advertising.
But scanlators do their job for free. I can understand that a fansubber/scanlator may also be a yaoi fangirl or fanboy. And English is practically inviting double-meanings.

Death Note. Light, aka Kira, thinking:

THAT'S FINE, NEAR; IF YOU WANT TO COME OUT, I'LL COME OUT TOO.
AND WHEN WE SETTLE THIS MATTER, WE WILL SEE WHO'S MORE PREPARED AND WHO'S ON TOP...

Now, L I could understand. But... Near? That cheap replacement, that little piece of *GRAH*...

And on this page, the pairing Light/Near was spawned. -_- Thanks, Scanlator-Translator. You should have known better dammit.
Yuck.

Ok, I just looked it up.
The original version says: "blablabla dochira ga sore ni yori sonae dochira ga yori ue iku ka."
"which one of us is better prepared, which one of us will go higher/further (than the other one)."
So it is the scanlator, after all... XDDDD

Well, maybe the japanese words also have "connotations". After all, if I never read fanfic, I would never even blink at the words "on top"...
And "come out" - words like THE coming out aren't learned in class either...*shrug*
But still, this page spawned a pairing, and it's not a nice one. Die, SueSueSUE Near. Die.

Oh well.
They really do NOT
Just remember that I didn't learn Japanese at school, ne? XD
And this one surely has NO connotations. It can't XD It's especially because of the "iku". It could have some, but then the choice of words would be different.

Oh and it IS learned in class ÖÖ At least I did XD

Oh whatever. I don't like any DN-Yaoi Pairings (although I have pics, and those pics are MattMello, MelloNear and MattNear... MattNear is kinda interesting, after all XDDD And I read a quite interesting NearMikami (which didn't have any yaoi in it, but the author said it had... whatever XD))
The only DN Pairings I like are SayuMatsuda and SayuMisa.

Do you really think RAS DOESN'T do that on purpose? Maybe not for the same reasons as the anime/manga artists, but come on - that Rubilard

Do you really think RAS DOESN'T do that on purpose? Maybe not for the same reasons as the anime/manga artists, but come on - that Rubilard<sp?>/Deudermont scene especially, where the wizard is all worried about 'his' captain and crawls into bed with him? How is that not on purpose?
